On May 8th, 2012 the First annual Pongapalooza event, a ping pong tournament at SPiN Toronto in support of First Book Canada, will help bring awareness to low literacy rates in Canada and raise funds to provide children in need access to brand new books. The ball is rarely on the table for children from low-income families in our society and we believe we can help change that through this unique fundraising event.
First Book Canada is elevating the quality of education for children in need on a permanent, sustainable basis – but we cannot do it alone. Our Partners in Ending Illiteracy represent some of the smartest, most generous organizations across the for-profit and nonprofit sectors and we want you to join them by taking part in this event. These collaborations help us reach thousands of Canadian children who can now experience the joy of reading and owning new books.
