One of First Book’s earliest and most successful models in the United States was the Advisory Board model where literacy and education ambassadors, made up of business, education and community leaders, came together to form a grassroots network of boards in local communities around the nation.

In Canada, our call for volunteers is strong. Our network of grassroots volunteers and leaders committed to improving literacy and access to books in their own communities is a cornerstone of First Book/Le Premier Livre.
