On Tuesday May 14th, 2013 the second annual Scotiabank Pongapalooza event, a ping pong tournament at SPiN Toronto in support of First Book Canada, will be held to help bring awareness to low literacy rates in Canada and raise funds to provide children in need access to brand new books. The ball is rarely on the table for children from low-income families in our society and we know we can help change that through this unique fundraising event.
This year we are thrilled to have Scotiabank step up to the table to become our overall event sponsor. On May 14th thirty –two teams of four with their designated author/captains will do ping pong battle to become the champion and winner of the 2013 Scotiabank Pongapalooza Cup. Over 250 spectators will be there to cheer on their teams and to play a little recreational ping pong and raise some funds for a great cause. Will you be part of the action ?
First Book Canada is elevating the quality of education for children in need on a permanent, sustainable basis – but we cannot do it alone. Our Partners in Ending Illiteracy represent some of the smartest, most generous organizations across the for-profit and nonprofit sectors and we want you to join them by taking part in this event. These collaborations help us reach thousands of Canadian children who can now experience the joy of reading and owning new books.
