About The Position
First Book Canada is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Marketing Intern for Summer 2025 (June to end of August). This paid position will support the development and distribution of new marketing materials, both digital and print, to strengthen brand awareness and help recruit new members. The ideal candidate is organized, works well under tight deadlines, and understands how to maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity. You will work closely with the Communications Manager on campaigns, content creation, and outreach efforts, gaining hands-on experience in non-profit marketing within a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.
What You Will Do – Deliverables
Tri-Fold Brochure – Member Recruitment
Mail-out brochure for schools and non-profits not yet registered with First Book Canada. Follows brand guidelines, highlights member benefits, includes QR code to sign-up form, testimonials from current members, and high-quality images.
Marketing Kit – Events & Outreach
Toolkit for use at conferences, book fairs, and outreach events. Includes print and digital assets for potential members and donors: general info sheets, banners, posters, contact QR codes, social media links, and sign-up materials.
YouTube & Social Media Video Edits
Short-form and long-form video content for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Includes:
Intro to First Book Canada (YouTube)
Author partnership features (TikTok/Instagram Reels)
Edits for social media campaigns, testimonials, and event highlights
Bookmarks – Design & Print
Create bookmark designs using artwork or quotes from First Book Canada event competition entries. Finalize layout, ensure branding, and place print order for distribution at schools and events.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Demonstrated skills in project management
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities effectively.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient communications in English are essential; French proficiency would be an asset
Experience working with the following platforms/applications will be a plus:
Canva
Social sites including: Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, LinkedIn
Additional Details
This is a paid internship in thanks to the Canada Summer Jobs program. The requirements of this program mean that all candidates must:
Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.

Job Posting: E-Commerce Operations Coordinator
About The Position
First Book Canada is looking for an experienced, e-commerce coordinator to lead the refinement and expansion of our online marketplace operation. The ideal candidate is strategic, analytical, and results driven. You will own all e-commerce logistics in a national network, including management of all physical and data transfer logistics and systems. This involves managing the flow of books and resources including procurement, production, tracking and reporting, distribution, and delivery. You will partner closely with teams in Operations, Finance, and IT to develop merchandising plans to support First Book Canada’s growth.
What You Will Do
Inventory and Distribution Management (40%)
Ensure end-to-end product supply is managed to identify any potential risks and develop contingency plans. Initiate & lead supply prioritization/de-risk discussions during constrained periods.
Continuously improve the supply chain to successfully manage the complexities of the First Book Canada Network, including lead time reduction, supplier responsiveness, on-time delivery.
Manage title research and image curation for new books selected for the First Book Canada Marketplace on an ongoing basis.
Order and Customer Management (30%)
Serve as the main point of contact for supply chain inquiries, including order fulfillment, delivery updates, and issue resolution.
Support the First Book Canada team to process and modify purchase orders to meet operational priorities.
Manage the inventory process for new book titles including purchase order submission to warehouse receiving.
Client and Stakeholder Communication (20%)
Monitor and communicate supplier performance in fulfilment, defects, and returns. Initiate corrective actions and improvement with internal stakeholders as required.
Facilitate and actively participate in meetings with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to address supply chain challenges and align strategies.
Sales Analysis (10%)
Support First Book Canada’s E-Commerce team to develop detailed sales reports and financial analyses to provide key performance metrics and actionable insights.
Analyze historical sales trends and market data to support accurate forecasts and strategic planning.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, supply chain management, or a related field.
Demonstrated skills in project management and warehouse fulfillment or e-commerce.
Proven experience in managing purchase orders, monitoring delivery performance, and collaborating on inventory allocation and management.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables).
Strong working knowledge of SAP and CRM modules for data management and reporting. Knowledge of Salesforce and Magento is considered an asset.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities effectively.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in forecasting, financial analysis, and market trend reporting.
Proficient communications in English are essential; French proficiency would be an asset.
Additional Details
Full-time 6 month contract with potential for full-time employment, hybrid work structure with minimum two days in downtown Toronto office. Start date as soon as possible.
Supervision and mentoring will ensure you are supported effectively in a learning environment. An open-door policy provides access to support as needed. The coordinator will work closely with all First Book Canada staff, and report to the e-Commerce & Data Manager. Compensation will be commensurate with scope and experience.
