Why Your Support Matters
Since 2009, First Book Canada has distributed more than 10 million high-quality books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income in Canada. Fueled by generous donations from hundreds of thousands of supporters, First Book Canada has made a direct impact on the lives of millions of children in need.
At the heart of our work are the First Book Canada Network, over 20,000 classroom teachers, summer and early childhood program staff, librarians, community advocates, care providers, and more – all working together to build a more promising future for children and families in need.
Your donation is used to provide brand-new, age-appropriate books to families who have none. Your support is used to provide educators with entire classroom libraries filled with books and resources. Your gift helps outfit school libraries and helps provide essential items necessary to educational equity.
