Penguin Random House Canada to partner with First Book Canada for holiday book matching campaign

December 3, 2019, TORONTO– First Book Canada has partnered with Penguin Random House Canada for a new holiday book matching campaign, to run from today, Giving Tuesday, to December 31, 2019.

Every $4 donated will be matched, up to a total of 20, 000 with an in-kind donation of a book from Penguin Random House Canada—providing TWICE as many books to kids. First Book Canada will forward the donated books to children in need with the goal of providing the gift of reading this holiday season— and beyond.

“Giving Tuesday donors want to see real change in their communities,” Tom Best, Executive Director, First Book Canada, said today. “We are thrilled to offer this special holiday campaign with Penguin Random House Canada, timed with Giving Tuesday, to help us put more books for young people in more homes across the country.”

This campaign will be the kick-off to First Book Canada’s fundraising initiative to give over one million books to children in need throughout 2020.
