First Book Canada named to 2021 Top Impact Charities list by Charity Intelligence Canada

TORONTO Tuesday, November 16, 2021 – For the second year in a row, First Book Canada has been named to two Charity Intelligence Canada lists of the top impact charities in Canada. The organization was named as a Top 10 Canadian Impact Charity and a Top 5 Youth Impact Charity for 2021.

Charity Intelligence analyzed over 800 Canadian charities to report on five objective measurements: donor reporting, financial transparency, funding need, cents to the cause, and demonstrated impact. The charities included in the six top 10 lists are those which scored the highest in these five aspects, showing the measurable return for each dollar donated.

“We are so pleased and proud to have been given this honour and two prestigious designations by Charity Intelligence for the second year in a row” said Tom Best, Executive Director for First Book Canada, “We recognize and value the enormous trust our donors and supporters place in us to deliver the very best books and educational materials into the hands of young people where it will have the most meaningful impact. Awards like this are so important because of the recognition and guidance it gives to potential donors, and it motivates us to strive to be even better stewards for those who have generously donated to us already.”

First Book Canada was honoured as part of the Read On Canada! coalition with a World Literacy Award earlier this year for our work during the pandemic.

95 cents of every dollar donated to First Book Canada goes directly towards new books, educational resources, and programs to serve kids in need. To make an impact this holiday season, consider donating to First Book Canada at https://support.firstbookcanada.org/HopeLoveGive2021.
